Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made history with an impressive display in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Wednesday. Competing for Bihar in their opening Plate Group match of the 2025–26 season, the 14-year-old opener delivered one of the most extraordinary innings ever witnessed in domestic cricket.

Sooryavanshi scored 190 runs off merely 84 balls against Arunachal Pradesh. He started the batting for the Bihar team led by Sakibul Gani and firmly took control of the bowlers right from the beginning.

In his explosive innings, he struck 16 fours and 15 sixes, demonstrating confidence and strength far surpassing his years.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Becomes First Cricketer to Script Dual Under-15 Centuries

Through this innings, Sooryavanshi set an extraordinary world record. He was the first male cricketer ever to achieve centuries in both List A and T20 cricket before reaching 15. The young player from Samastipur has previously gained attention by becoming the youngest individual to hit a century in the IPL and T20 cricket.

At 14 years and 272 days,Vaibhav Sooryavanshi achieved the record as the youngest player to make a century in men’s List A cricket.

He shattered a long-standing record previously held by Pakistan’s Zahoor Elahi, who was 15 years and 209 days old when he hit an unbeaten 103 in 1986

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi accomplished his century in merely 36 balls versus Arunachal Pradesh.
