The initial teaser trailer for Border 2, the eagerly awaited follow-up to JP Dutta’s legendary war film Border, has been unveiled. The movie, featuring Sunny Deol, also includes a fresh selection of actors like Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The creators unveiled the teaser at a lavish event in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon, and the feedback has been mostly favorable, with audiences lauding the action, grandeur, and touch of nostalgia.
The teaser begins with scenes from the 1971 Indo-Pak War, featuring Sunny Deol’s voice challenging Pakistan to breach India’s borders. The heroes – Varun, Diljit, and Ahan – are seen protecting different borders. A series of clashes and incidents from their private lives ensues.
Sunny’s character instructs his men to shout so loudly that the Indian soldiers’ battle cries are audible even in Lahore. The trailer concludes with additional visuals of aerial and ground combat, along with naval warfare, a first in Hindi cinema. The melody of ‘Hindustan Meri Jaan’ from the initial film resonates while the title appears on the screen.
The teaser was unveiled on 16 December, coinciding with the 44th Vijay Diwas, commemorating the Indian Army’s triumph in the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
