Today Weather Update Cyclone Montha :
The impact of Cyclone Montha continues to trouble parts of West Singhbhum district, putting standing paddy crops at serious risk. Persistent rainfall and a noticeable drop in temperature have disrupted daily life, especially in regions bordering Odisha where the cyclone montha effect has been more intense.

According to the Agriculture Department, the district has recorded around 11.6 mm of rainfall so far. The sky remained overcast throughout the day with intermittent showers. Continuous rain led to a temperature drop of nearly 5°C in the maximum and around 4°C in the minimum, bringing a sudden chill in the air and affecting normal activities across the region.
Weather news about cyclone montha :
The cyclone montha strongest impact has been observed in areas close to the Odisha border, including Mazgaon, Noamundi, and Jagannathpur, where residents faced day-long rain and waterlogging. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the current weather conditions are likely to persist until October 31.
Meanwhile, farmers’ worries have grown, as the paddy crops in the fields were almost ready for harvest. Due to the ongoing rain and stagnant water, there is a high risk of crop damage. District Agriculture Officer Dr. Amarjeet Kujur warned that continuous waterlogging could cause the paddy to rot if not drained promptly. He urged farmers to immediately remove excess water from their fields to protect the crop and minimize losses.
Dr. Kujur also advised farmers to cover the harvested paddy stored in barns with plastic sheets to prevent moisture from seeping in and damaging the grains. The Agriculture Department has appealed to farmers to stay alert, monitor weather updates regularly, and take all necessary precautions to protect their produce from further harm.
