Barcelona narrowly triumphed in a thrilling Clasico in Jeddah with a pair of goals from Raphinha and a goal from Robert Lewandowski, securing another trophy at the expense of Madrid.

Mbappé, who began the match on the bench following recovery from a knee sprain and was brought on in the 76th minute, faced accusations from Barcelona fans of obstructing Madrid players from creating a traditional guard of honour for the victors during the trophy ceremony.

A widely circulated video seems to depict Mbappé communicating with his teammates and encouraging them to leave the pitch, while appearing to disregard head coach Xabi Alonso’s requests to remain.
As reported by MARCA, the Frenchman “decided against remaining and hastened the team’s exit, preventing him from seeing the champion’s final scene.”
The event has sparked rumors of discord within the Madrid team, especially concerning Mbappé and Alonso — a connection that is now considered irrelevant. Only a few hours following the defeat, club president Florentino Pérez let Alonso go, and Álvaro Arbeloa was promptly chosen as his successor.
Before his dismissal, Alonso adopted a defiant tone while speaking.
“Emotions are conflicted,” he stated. “Feeling let down for not clinching the title, yet proud of the team’s effort.” “We were extremely near.”
